All right, splash some water on your face and take a deep breath. I feel your frustration but I'll tell you and anyone else feeling the same thing...want "it" bad...but don't want "it" too bad.

If you try too hard, you'll end up running in circles and having all kinds of problems. If you try to be too much like other artists, the only thing you'll succeed in is becoming a professional fan artist. Everyone will say, "Hey, that's cool, but he coped it from 'so-and-so'."

I believed in you a few months ago and I still do, so don't let me down, dammit!!!:D You're advancing quickly and wonderfully, but I think it's time to start locking in your own theme and style. Take me, for example, I love to do fantasy/renaissance style art, especially dragon stuff. You need a style and technique so that when people see your art they say, "Hey man, that's Bryce Chapman! His art is 'fkn' awesome!":wow:

Remember, you'll be selling your skills as an artist of any degree...so in essence, you're selling yourself. People love originality and vision not regurgitation. Take Andy Warhol, for instance...people loved his work for it's unique flare, even though it wasn't all that intricate.

You'll get there, man...you just have to invent some brand identity for yourself...you sure as hell have a lot of avenues you can pursue with ease!

Oh and BTW, I looked at that Behance site...you're actually going to tell me with a straight face that you wondered if you are you good enough to post over there? Pah-lease...get those designs uploaded!!! ;)

Karen is awesome, Hi Karen!

You have a lot of great pieces to put up there! As far as style, that depends on where in the industry you want to go. Game development, business/advertising design, entertainment/movie FX...when you can answer that question, style will get a lot more clear. You're versatile and skilled enough to do any of those, but the choice is up to you.

Bryce, Bryce, Bryce, what I am going to do with you. Remember when I told you I would let you know when you got on my nerves, well this is not the time:lmao: I completly understand what you're talking about, I've been feeling the same way lately:saddrunk: not knowing what to do or where to go or more importantly, what the future will bring. But that does not mean I am going to give up and just cry about it, I keep fighting and I try to be patient, although things don't look good right now, there is not way they can stay like this forever, so all we can do is hope and pray for things to change for the better. Don't give up brother is the only advise I can give you right now, so keep fighting and doing what you like,:pc: you'll see that one day things will get better.:)

You're right - these guys have been doing it for years. When I joined Behance I as also in awe of a lot of the work there. But you should adjust your attitude so it inspires you to do well and practice, instead of letting it get you down by comparing yourself unrealistically. Most of those guys there have 10 years on you. Think of the kind of work you're doing now and how totally awesome you'll be in a few years. It's going to be epic! Stick with it... it's just a matter of taking the time to refine your talent.

Thanks Karen:hug:,I guess lastnight was kind of a bummer to me:D But Ive talked to my grandmother and mother, who have encouraged me to do the same, and I have:nod: To be honest I really do look up to those guys, and yes, its gonna have to take time I know, but sometimes I just wish the time was now:D Maybe its because I graduate in May, I dont what's in store for me when I do graduate…I mean really like graphic design, but I really want to do digital art!

Anyways, thanks Karen:glomp: You really are very helpful. Im still thinking about getting a Behance, I just dont know if Im that good yet;)
